We are gearing up for a very exciting period in our long history and currently have an opening for an adjunct part-time IT Instructor at our Rancho Cordova campus.
 
Overview of your role: 
  • To provide quality instruction
  • Employ effective classroom management techniques, address diverse learning styles
  • Provide formative and summative assessment of student learning
  • Facilitate a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Support students in their efforts to succeed
  • Maintain accurate records and submit records and data by the due dates, in compliance with FERPA and other regulations
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities and support campus events, support and enforce campus policies
  • Model and employ professional and positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and students
  • Adapt to new circumstances and work collaboratively with all members of the Heald-wide community
  • Check voicemail and email daily and respond in a timely manner; respond to requests for course/program surveys; use electronic recordkeeping tools as requested, such as the Gradebook program and Peoplesoft, the designated learning management system
  • Attend faculty meetings, in-service training, and other professional development activities as requested
To be successful in this role, you will need: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s degree preferred, in a field that is related to the course(s), which you will be teaching and a minimum of one-year teaching experience preferred
  • Skills needed in Microsoft Network administration, Linux, Security, and Routing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A desire to support and motivate students throughout their academic career at Heald
