The University of California, Irvine, Program in Public Health, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, invites applications for a full-time professional researcher position at the Assistant rank. We are seeking an experienced research epidemiologist to join our dynamic research program focused on understanding the human effects of exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The individual's independent research focus should be on the health impacts of toxicant exposures on women and children.
The Department seeks a candidate with a strong background in study design, human subjects research and recruitment, and statistical analysis for epidemiological studies. This position will have 100% time allotted to research. Candidates must have current federal funding as Principal Investigator, co-Principal Investigator, or Lead Researcher to support their ongoing research.
Research space will be available on the UC Irvine campus. The individual will need to be highly collaborative, as they will be expected to establish strong collaborations with researchers in different disciplines. The successful recruit will also participate in supervision and mentoring of research staff, including undergraduate and graduate students.
Preferred qualifications include a track record of extramural grant funding and a research focus on immunological effects of prenatal and early childhood exposure to PFAS chemicals.
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
* Doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, or a closely related field
* Track record of peer-reviewed publications in environmental health
