Description

As the Commercial Weatherization Specialist for Multi-Family/ Small Business efficiency projects in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, you will need to exhibit exceptional organizational skills and have a history of marshaling weatherization projects from start to finish on-schedule and on-budget while maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction. This position is based in Cranston, RI and includes day-trip travel to project sites in MA, RI and NH. As the Weatherization Specialist you will work within systems and processes already in place at RISE to perform the job functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts commercial audits pertaining to the weatherization program.
  • Manage development and implementation of multiple projects concurrently.
  • Perform in-field project development work in support of the sales function to identify, specify, and provide costing of potential projects;
  • Procure and track materials as required, and secure appropriate installation resources
  • Maintain all necessary permits/licensing.
  • Perform in-progress and final inspections of contracted projects.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company and industry standards.
  • Quickly and efficiently resolve any installation, craftsmanship, warranty, customer service or other issues.
  • Work with billing department to ensure timely, accurate invoicing.
  • Partner with other Energy Specialists in an effort to aid and deliver accurate weatherization offerings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Energy Efficiency experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of non-lighting energy efficiency measures and commercial building systems, equipment and terminology, especially for mechanical equipment and controls.
  • Proficiency with databases and Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Other combinations of education, training and experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Problem solver capable of working through issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to travel to job sites throughout Mass. or R.I. as needed.
  • Able to pass criminal background and drug screening tests.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • CEM, LEED AP, PMP and/or other relevant professional certification.
  • Current Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's License.
  • Experience working with utilities, energy-efficiency companies and/or installation contracting firms to secure available incentives for energy end-users.
  • Experience with building science or weatherization background is preferred.

Work Environment, Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:

This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as on a variety of outdoor job sites. Position will entail frequent exposure to outside work, dusty environments as well as occasional sedentary work. It is a full-time 40-hour position. Days and hours of work may vary but are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with frequent local travel expected for this position. Valid driver's license and clean record are required.
