Position Summary:
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) Office of Educational & Community Partnerships (ECP) seeks to implement new strategic community engagement initiatives designed to build a pipeline for academic programs across the university. The mission of the UCI-OC Alliance is to advance UC Irvine as a Latino/a-thriving university through engaging and supporting Latino/a students, faculty and staff. Established in 2021, the UCI-OC Alliance supports UC Irvine as a Hispanic-thriving university. The UCI-OC Alliance serves Orange County by connecting local leaders and businesses with UC Irvine to advance Latino/a students through: mentorships, scholarships, internships, program support, corporate partnerships, special events and initiatives, and networking opportunities. UC Irvine has more than 135 programs that support Latino/a students. Serving Orange County, this trustee-guided, university-driven community organization is facilitated by the Office of Educational & Community Partnerships.
UCI is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). This federal designation aligns with UCI's aspiration to be a national leader and global model of inclusive excellence. As a designated HSI, UCI faculty, staff and students are eligible to apply for Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) grants, internships and partnerships. Established by UCI Foundation Trustees in 2021, the OC Alliance aims to support UCI in its objective to become a Hispanic-thriving university. The Alliance connects local leaders and businesses with UCI to advance Latino/a students through engagement with more than 135 programs on campus geared toward promoting upward mobility. The Program Associate applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues in support of the OC Alliance's mission. The incumbent fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations to the Executive Director of the program, to whom this role will report.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.92 - $46.36 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $26.92 - $46.36 (Hourly Rate).

Required:
  • Three years of successful professional development and/or fundraising related experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in donor relations, stewardship, alumni relations and/or communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of fundraising and donor relations concepts, principles, techniques, procedures and practices
  • Ability to track and monitor budget expenses proficiently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly.
Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of the campus, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM Bilingual: English/Spanish at a fluent level (understand; speak; read; and write)


Special Conditions Required:
  • May work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • May be required to drive on occasion to perform the routine or essential job responsibilities for the position
