Select Medical is looking for a proactive, results-oriented IT Contracts Manager to lead the team focusing on technology driven transactions in the healthcare industry. The role requires a unique combination of competency in technology, contracting, finance and general business and an ability to assess associated risks and opportunities for a given business situation. They are responsible for supporting the needs of the Information Services department from a vendor contracting perspective, including the review, interpretation, negotiation and execution of IT contracts. This position will also review and redline contractual terms and conditions, distribute Business Associate Agreements and IT Security Agreements, and communicate with hardware and/or software vendors to ensure agreements are in alignment with business objectives.

The IT Contracts Manager will also ensure the team abstracts and files all contracts into a designated contract management system or repository to ensure IS leadership is alerted to upcoming events and renewals in a timely manner. In addition, they will support the IS management team, as well as multiple internal groups (Procurement, Legal, etc.) and external vendors with any inquiries, contract terms or document requests that may be needed. This position will report to the Vice President, Information Technology.

Responsibilities

    Review, interpret, negotiate, and finalize healthcare IT contracts including Master Services Agreements, Software License Agreements, Statements of Work, Software-as-a-Service Agreements, Hardware Agreements and Leases, Telecommunication Agreements, and Amendments.
  • Direct contract negotiation and strategy sessions in collaboration with other corporate functional areas, including Procurement, Legal, Finance, HR, Compliance, and other IS departments.
  • Monitors vendor performance and compliance with contractual terms and conditions while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Act as a point of contact and liaison between stakeholders and vendors, providing efficient and accurate review, finalization, approval, and execution of contractual matters.
  • Assist with and review redlined recommendations on contracts and negotiate directly with vendors, attorneys, and/or sales staff until a consensus has been reached. Creativity and independent decision making is required.
  • Make key decisions regarding changes to terms and conditions in line with general contracts law, corporate business standards, and input from business owners and the legal department when required.
  • Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness. Note any key clauses or high-risk areas.
  • Assist with merger and acquisition of IT contract-related projects.
  • Direct the team to and assist with abstracting key contract data into the contract management system.
  • Direct the team to compile the quarterly list of upcoming contracts requiring review, negotiation, and/or renewal, along with tracking and reporting associated IT contract commitments.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA (preferably in Business Management or Finance) degree or equivalent combination of education, certification and relevant work experience.
  • 5-10 years of management experience that includes contracting and negotiation skills reviewing and interpreting IT contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate on complex issues/solutions in a manner that is easily understood and actionable by the audience.
  • Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to perform with a sense of urgency within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires the management of multiple projects at once without compromising quality and service levels.
  • Must have the ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently, have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills while paying specific attention to details.
  • Perform tasks with increasing complexity and tasks requiring detailed analysis and research while always maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
