Description

The Supply Chain Director leads the design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities within the Medical Business with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, and measuring overall supply chain performance. Overarching major areas of responsibility are:

  1. to assure efficient continuity of supply in support of Mirion Medical product & service demand requirements
  2. to deliver competitive cost of supply and distribution in support of Mirion Medical profitability objectives

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the consolidation of the Mirion Medical Supply Chain organization
  • Implement and execute supply chain strategy in support of corporate goals and customer needs for a consolidated Medical organization
  • Create strategies and contractual agreements to maximize inventory quality and minimize product lead times
  • Own and implement SIOP (sales, inventory, and operations planning) to effectively manage the supply chain and synchronization with all functional organizations.
  • Manage and coordinate the supply chain activities, such as sourcing, procurement, warehousing, logistics, and distribution
  • Create policies and processes to effectively manage on time delivery to forecast and inventory turns
  • Develop and implement programs to maximize schedule flexibility, minimize inventory exposure, and reduce risk for both the company and the customer, while maintaining performance-to-cost targets
  • Develop cost models to determine the total cost of ownership to drive supply chain decisions
  • Negotiate supplier contracts to optimize supply, terms and conditions, and contract prices
  • Implement best industry practices within the organization and the supporting supplier base
  • Conduct periodic audits and capability assessments to identify trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency of operation
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering to monitor, measure, and improve supplier quality
  • Manage supply chain performance and report monthly performance results, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions
  • Establish supplier scorecards, conduct quarterly business reviews (QBR's) and document supplier development plans
  • Collaborate with engineering to help develop and implement supply chain strategy during new product introduction

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in supply chain, engineering, business, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of supply chain management experience and 3 years in management roles desired
  • Ability to effectively manage a team of 5+ manager level employees to drive the execution and strategic vision of the business
  • Experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing and medical systems is preferred
  • General knowledge of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA's), electronic and mechanical components, and commodities
  • Experience overseeing contract manufacturers such as PCBA suppliers
  • Proven negotiating skills specific to achieving favorable prices and services
  • In-depth knowledge of MRP, manufacturing processes, and forecasting systems
  • Ability to initiate and collaboratively develop opportunities with key stakeholders to improve processes and reduce associated costs
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Training and experience in Kanban, JIT, Lean Manufacturing, and demand-pull systems
  • Professional Certifications such as APICS/CPIM and/or ISM/CPM are a plus
  • Travel required, 50% or less
