Job title:QC Final Inspector I

Hourly Rate: $18.00

SUMMARYPerforms in-process and final inspections of packed columns using a variety of inspection methods and techniques to determine if a product meets customer and internal product specifications/standards. Methods include visual inspections, measurements and functional testing. The inspectors must ensure that the product meets specifications/standards in terms of its form, fit, function, and appearance.

Reports directly to: Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

What you do:

  • Perform inspections to drawings, specifications, work instructions, test instructions, checklists, procedures, Change Orders, deviations, and service notes.
  • Perform visual inspections to ensure there are no cosmetic defects, e.g. color and physical appearance.
  • Responsible for release of product for shipment, i.e. final review and approval of Device History Record (DHR), including all associated data and documentation for loose columns and assembled columns.
  • Share responsibility with production operators for ensuring that finished goods are segregated until final release.
  • Work from engineering prototype and production released inspection procedures.
  • Recommend modifications to improve product quality.
  • Provide feedback to production to improve process and product quality.
  • Prepare nonconformance reports for products not meeting product specification.
  • Evaluate test equipment for proper operation, set-up, utilization and application.
  • Provide input for improving the QC final inspection process and submits improvements to manager for implementation.
  • Support the Quality System and Quality Policy by following procedures/work instructions and creating records to meet the requirements of Tecan's Quality System and ISO certification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB. THE JOB DESCRIPTION SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMPLETE LISTING OF ALL MISCELLANEOUS, INCIDENTAL OR OTHER DUTIES THAT MAY BE ASSIGNED DURING NORMAL OPERATIONS.

What you Bring:

  • Must have 3 / 4 on performance evolution
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a visual inspector in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or FDA regulated environment is preferred.
  • Advanced training in inspection techniques at the junior college level desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual acuity required.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing, walking for 4-5 hours at a time.
