Primary Responsibilities

The responsibility of the Office Engineer includes representing the project owner for construction administration issues and requires a strong understanding of construction methods, procedures and administrative processes, excellent documentation skills both written and computer, and good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with contractor personnel, the public, other team members and the owner. The position reports to and supports the resident engineer and must be able to work independently as well as part of the owner's team. The construction administrator must be able to continue the administrative work of the project in the absence of the resident engineer, make sure that documents are received, dealt with and filed and actions taken such that the project does not experience delays. Will also work with project staff to maintain project documentation, process all paperwork and progress pay estimates, advise the resident engineer and staff of project status, assist the Project Manager in preparing monthly project reports for the client. This position also requires work on document control, RFI processing, review of labor compliance documentation and reports to the Resident Engineer on these aspects of the project.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Construction management/office engineer experience
  • 3 years experience working in Transportation or Civil Engineering field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prolog, Primavera desired
  • BS in Engineering or Business desired

The expected compensation range for this position is $65,044 - $92,920 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
