Position Summary
The Clinician (Licensed or License-Eligible) at Bell Shelter is responsible for providing a variety of clinical services, including providing group and individual psychotherapy, to patients in our Drug Medi-Cal Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program and other programs within the shelter and Low Demand building. In addition, the Clinician will help develop high quality group curricula and clinical treatment planning protocols, perform ASAM assessments, and perform crisis management assessments as needed.
Essential Functions
Assist in developing high quality group curricula and clinical treatment planning protocols. Perform individual and group psychotherapy. Conduct mental health screenings and assessments and refer clients to community based mental health clinics for psychiatric treatment. If licensed, provide clinical supervision to MFT or MSW Trainees and Interns. Formulate clinical diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plans for Bell Shelter clients and assist case managers with devising effective treatment plans for clients. Assess and assist clients in emotional distress or crisis to promote emotional well-being and stability. Perform emergency sessions and evaluations with clients who are in crisis. This includes assessing if clients are suicidal, homicidal, or gravely disabled. Complete all required progress notes, confidentiality agreements and other necessary paperwork in the SAGE software system. Provide In-Service training for Bell Shelter staff. Help create and maintain a therapeutic environment in which clients are viewed and understood in the context of their life experience and personal strengths and challenges. Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Due to licensing requirements, all employees at this facility must be fully vaccinated and have booster shot or accept booster shot within 15 days of eligibility. This position requires employee to be vaccinated from COVID-19 unless granted a medical or religious exemption from Divisional HR Director
