NCA - PORTFOLIO SUPPORT INTERN (2 positions - project based and non-project based)

Intern positions labeled "Project based" are geared towards undergraduate students graduating after 2022. Intern positions that are non-project based are geared towards undergraduate students graduating between 2020 and 2021.

NATIONAL CASH AUTOMATION (NCA) GROUP OVERVIEW

National Cash Automation (NCA), the CPO's cash software development and support team, is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the suite of cash applications used by Reserve Banks and depository institutions to process and manage currency and coin.

The team focuses on product strategy & management, portfolio support, and data strategy to better support our planning, execution, and monitoring of our core applications that provide: inventory management, operational and Board reporting, Depository Institution orders and deposits, policy enforcement, and communication channels between applications.

POSITION/PROJECT OVERVIEW

The work that the NCA intern performs, directly contributes to the success of the CPO's high priority objectives for 2020. Additionally, the projects that will be worked on are part of the NCA "Plan" Team's team key results.

The intern will also gain insight into the administration of the NCA "Plan" team through their participation in planning meetings and team mentorship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

While learning about the U.S. cash supply chain and the CPO's role in it, the Gold Intern may assist with any of the following:

  • Visualization of key NCA metrics (e.g. project scope, schedule, cost, quality)

  • Building data analytics tools and capabilities that improve CPO business processes

  • Providing analytical support to internal stakeholders

  • Conducting surveys to capture opportunities for process improvement

REQUIREMENTS FOR PROJECT BASED:
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residency
  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in a 4 year Bachelor degree program

  • Overall 3.0 GPA or better
  • Ability to work 40 hours week throughout the duration of the 10-12 week internship program.

REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-PROJECT BASED:


  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residency
  • Graduating between 2020 and 2021 from in a 4 year Bachelor degree program

  • Overall 3.0 GPA or better
  • Ability to work 40 hours week throughout the duration of the 10-12 week internship program.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • MS Office
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with data visualization products (e.g. Python, R, SAS, Tableau, etc.)

  • SharePoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
